Dan Hughes is a partner of Traverse Bay Strategy Group, and the leader of the product and service innovation work of the firm.
Dan is also founder and President of OPTIMideas, a design consultancy, and long time affiliate of Traverse Bay.
Dan's work in innovation ranges from new product development, to product and service concept design, and user experience.
Dan’s career was primarily with the largest global advertising agencies, to include J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson, BBDO, and Young & Rubicam. In those capacities his client experience includes Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota, as well as AC Delco, Champion, Dunlop, Carhartt, and Rockwell International.
In a design capacity, Dan has done extensive work in package goods, banking, finance, medical devices, and health care.
Dan attended the Kendall School of Design where he continues to advise and guest lecture. He received Kendall’s first Outstanding Graduate Award. He has three sons Winston, Spencer, and Hunter.
